York Gate Garden the perfect inspiration.
York Gate Garden, although very popular, is still under the radar for many. Yet it is one of the great English Gardens and sits tucked away on the northern edge of Leeds!
There are many beautiful and impressive aspects to York Gate Garden, but one its chief delights is that it’s a treasure chest of inspiration for ordinary domestic gardens. You leave thinking ‘this could happen in my garden’. The whole garden of only one acre in size is split into 14 garden rooms, all linked by ingenious and beautiful vistas. Each room has a different, exquisitely realised, theme.
It’s essentially a large suburban garden taken to a standard that is astonishingly high and yet it all feels achievable. It’s like a sample book of nearly every conceivable style of garden design that could be carried out in a normal sized garden.
If you are reaching for a garden concept and can’t quite get it into focus, take your garden designer for a morning here. There is so much to see and talk about that you’re post-tour cake and coffee will sit untouched whilst you and your designer enthuse over all you’ve just seen. So grab a coffee and sit back and enjoy our slide show.
